A video and photos of a recent soapstone countertop installation

A couple in Texas were looking for new kitchen countertops and chose Canadian soapstone. They ordered the stone and installed it themselves.

Here's how it worked out.

From the kitchen cabinet drawings the customer takes the proper measurements and divides the countertop area into the appropriate stone sizes; keeping in mind that the largest slab of soapstone that we quarry is 32" x 60".

Then faxes us the drawing.

They also wanted a slightly larger sink with different sized compartments and drain locations.

So they faxed us another drawing showing us the drains and the size of each compartment.

We organized the drawing into a soapstone order and returned it to them for confirmation.

Note that the long section of counter (180") has been divided into three separate stones; 7, 8, and 9.

Here are the stones as ordered.
1. 48" x 25 1/2"

2. 43" x 26 1/2"

3. Behind the stove 47" x 5"

4. 43" x 26 1/2"

5. 32" x 25 1/2"

6. Behind the sink 39" X 5 1/2"

7. 61" x 25 1/2"

8. 61" x 25 1/2"
